The Top 10 SEO Strategies

Anyone who has tried to educate themselves about search engine strategies, has already discovered that there are literally millions of pages, with as many differing opinions on the subject of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). This vast amount of information on the subject of SEO, and the strategies used most often, can be found on the internet and in magazines and books. You could spend years sifting through all of the available materials on SEO and SEO strategies, to find the strategies that have emerged as the front-runners in the online marketing arena.

To speed up the learning process, you will find 10 of the top SEO strategies listed below to use as a quick guide to the search engine optimization for your website. It is recommended that you continue educating yourself further about SEO as your schedule permits. New information and strategies on SEO are added to the already “massive mix” on a regular basis.

1. Aquant yourself with KEYWORDS, and KEYWORD PHRASES. These are the words that someone searching for something on the internet uses to narrow searches, for matches closer to what they’re looking for. You can use software to help find and organize these words, or let your SEO consultant deal with this crucial, but time-consuming job.

2. “Woo” search engines and prospective visitors to your website with tantalizing titles for your website and web pages. Remember the axiom of having only one chance to make a great first impression.

3. Create website layouts and designs that pack a powerful visual-punch for visitors to enjoy. Search engines like websites with fresh and appealing designs, but even better, visitors will spread the word about the look of your website which will create a stream of curious visitors and the possibility for more sales.

4. Only use good, informative, interesting content to fill your website. If you can’t write it yourself, hire a competent content provider to create unique content for your website.

5. Add an RSS Newsfeed to your website to provide your website visitors with access to the freshest information related to their interests.

6. Find quality links to place on your website that point to other websites related to yours. Use websites with high rankings to benefit the most from placing them on your website. You can check the rank of a website using the Free Google ToolBar

7. Submit your website to a web directory. There are large directories with generalized themes or you can choose a web directory that is specific to the theme of your website. Search engines give much consideration to websites listed in web directories. Do be careful about submitting to some of the free web directories. Check them out first to ensure that they do not engage in unethical practices such as not monitoring what websites can be accepted into the directory, and having no policy against Spam.

8. Submit your website to search engines yourself or using software that makes reasonable submissions. Mass submitters can be a hindrance to the SEO of your website because they tend to zoom towards those harmful web directories.

9. Keep track of your websites positioning in search engines and make changes in the SEO of your website wherever needed.

10. Consider budgeting for an SEO expert to help you with all of the numerous aspects of SEO for your website. These experts can save you tons of time, spent learning about and performing these SEO strategies, and can also save you from spending money on SEO tools you don’t really need.

Facebook vs Friendster?

Facebook vs Friendster

When friendster comes out around 6 years ago, it was really a hit in our school. In just a few months, everybody, including the teachers, had their own account in Friendster. I had mine too, but I decided to abandon it for no reason at all.

For me, Friendster is so yesterday. But, nevertheless, it pioneered the concept of social networking where people can virtually make friends, and most of them become a good friend out of it.
Friendster introduces many features of social networking that amazed lots of people. It allows its members to expand their network of friends more rapidly than in real life. The feature which allows the users to modify the css of their profile is probably the best feature I like from friendster (I have a friend who pays me 300 just for the overlay design of his profile)
Today, friendster is not a good place anymore for social networking. It has so many security lapses. Spams are everywhere. It looks like, its management don’t have any control anymore over its 60 million registered users.
Facebook on the otherside, is the youngest among the social networking. Being the youngest, it started out with a strong foundation. It has anticipated the problems that other existing social networking encountered.
It’s screen design, a simple yet elegant one, limits the user’s creativity to modify their profile looks but at the same time it allows the page to load faster than that of Friendster.
Among all other social networking site, Facebook attracts new users everyday through its application, which currently already reached 33,000. Moreover, it allow users to chat with their friends right from the browser.
When it come to security issues, Facebook way better than friendster. In almost all activites, the user is requested to type in a certain word to stop bots or spams from using facebook.Facebook is growing rapidly over the past few years. Unlike friendster, it attracts more of professionals rather than the teens.
The two social networking is now on the top 10 of most visited website. Each, have their own pros and cons. Friendster had established its name in Asia, but Facebook is growing rapidly too.

What have you done to keep yourself on top?

Respect is a very important aspect that your business needs to have – getting yourself the respect you need is very important since almost everyone will look up to you. There are times you have to be a leader and it’s not easy. A lot of people will get agitated; jealousy as a matter of fact is present. The question really is how do you get on top of these people and get the respect you need?

The answer is… Nobody is perfect. People have their limitations and people will tend to abuse you. We made it through 5 months, going stronger and never looking back. It’s never an easy task for a young adult like me, but with all the support I have, we made it. There are people who only want everything for themselves, I on the other hand will continue to share and help everyone who needs my help.

There are people who are selfish enough who thinks they are better than me, or us. We’ll think again 25 heads are better than 6, lol. And it only proves jealousy doesn’t prove anything, and you don’t have the guts to be an employee of someone who is 3 or 5 years younger. Talk whatever you want and good luck. You guys know who you are so whatever you do, you guys are nothing compared to us.

To end this simple post, I would like to congratulate everyone for a job well done. We have 35 clients on our list and still growing. There is no stopping us.

The Difference Between a Computer Virus, Worm and Trojan Horse

The most common blunder people make when the topic of a computer virus arises is to refer to a worm or Trojan horse as a virus. While the words Trojan, worm and virus are often used interchangeably, they are not exactly the same. Viruses, worms and Trojan Horses are all malicious programs that can cause damage to your computer, but there are differences among the three, and knowing those differences can help you to better protect your computer from their often damaging effects.

What Is a Virus?

A computer virus attaches itself to a program or file enabling it to spread from one computer to another, leaving infections as it travels. Like a human virus, a computer virus can range in severity: some may cause only mildly annoying effects while others can damage your hardware, software or files.

Almost all viruses are attached to an executable file, which means the virus may exist on your computer but it actually cannot infect your computer unless you run or open the malicious program. It is important to note that a virus cannot be spread without a human action, (such as running an infected program) to keep it going.

People continue the spread of a computer virus, mostly unknowingly, by sharing infecting files or sending e-mails with viruses as attachments in the e-mail.

What Is a Worm?

A worm is similar to a virus by design and is considered to be a sub-class of a virus. Worms spread from computer to computer, but unlike a virus, it has the capability to travel without any human action. A worm takes advantage of file or information transport features on your system, which is what allows it to travel unaided.

The biggest danger with a worm is its capability to replicate itself on your system, so rather than your computer sending out a single worm, it could send out hundreds or thousands of copies of itself, creating a huge devastating effect. One example would be for a worm to send a copy of itself to everyone listed in your e-mail address book. Then, the worm replicates and sends itself out to everyone listed in each of the receiver’s address book, and the manifest continues on down the line.

Due to the copying nature of a worm and its capability to travel across networks the end result in most cases is that the worm consumes too much system memory (or network bandwidth), causing Web servers, network servers and individual computers to stop responding. In recent worm attacks such as the much-talked-about Blaster Worm, the worm has been designed to tunnel into your system and allow malicious users to control your computer remotely.

Key Terms To Understanding Computer Viruses:

virus

A program or piece of code that is loaded onto your computer without your knowledge and runs against your wishes.

Trojan Horse

A destructive program that masquerades as a benign application. Unlike viruses, Trojan horses do not replicate themselves

worm

A program or algorithm that replicates itself over a computer network and usually performs malicious actions

blended threat

Blended threats combine the characteristics of viruses, worms, Trojan Horses, and malicious code with server and Internet vulnerabilities .

antivirus program

A utility that searches a hard disk for viruses and removes any that are found.

What Is a Trojan horse?

A Trojan Horse is full of as much trickery as the mythological Trojan Horse it was named after. The Trojan Horse, at first glance will appear to be useful software but will actually do damage once installed or run on your computer.  Those on the receiving end of a Trojan Horse are usually tricked into opening them because they appear to be receiving legitimate software or files from a legitimate source.  When a Trojan is activated on your computer, the results can vary. Some Trojans are designed to be more annoying than malicious (like changing your desktop, adding silly active desktop icons) or they can cause serious damage by deleting files and destroying information on your system. Trojans are also known to create a backdoor on your computer that gives malicious users access to your system, possibly allowing confidential or personal information to be compromised. Unlike viruses and worms, Trojans do not reproduce by infecting other files nor do they self-replicate.
